Panama Approves Changes to Emergency Funding for Earthquake Reconstruction

On 28 October, Panama’s Cabinet approved amendments to the emergency trust established after the 9 October earthquakes, retaining up to B/.100 million for eligible special procurement supporting reconstruction and response. The authorised amount may support works and services for affected areas, but individual property-rebuilding contract prices were not disclosed; developers, construction firms and property investors can explore feasibility modelling, construction tracking and asset-performance analytics, while HPC can support data-driven project planning.
